ABOUT US
The International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) is an international human rights organization that is affiliated to United Nations with its headquarters in Geneva Switzerland. IHRC was established with offices in all Member countries of the United Nations across Asia, Africa, Europe and America.
International Human Rights Commission-IHRC is a non-government, non-profitable International Human Rights Organization. The name of the International Executive Committee (IEC) of IHRC was declared on 24th December 2003 in Geneva, Switzerland, the head quarters of UN. The IEC have been established with 24th Member from 24 countries of Asia, Africa, Europe and America. Each member country of United Nations will be member of IHRC. IHRC has been established for eradicating atomic weapons, conducting impartial inquiry of my torture in national or international level, mobilizing public opinion for peace and against war, materializing UN Charter of human rights in each and every country and to make UN a sovereign, neutral and rights organization. The IHRC will gradually take affiliation of UN and International Network bodies.

The International Human Rights Commission is backed by legal status as required by the law and has signed a Charter with United Nations on the 23rd December, 2003 in Geneva, Switzerland. The organization serves as the eye of the world on issues of Human Rights abuses with proper reporting to the office of the United Nations High Commission on Human Rights. As a human rights commission, we promote and protect the rights of citizens, irrespective of their political affiliations, religion, sex, location, etc.

In all the African countries, the IHRC Africa Region HQ is the division of this renowned intergovernmental organization that has mandate to deal with matters relating to the promotion and protection of human rights according to the laws and international human rights instruments to which each country is a party to. These laws and instruments cover the promotion and protection of the rights of the people which keeps governments on their toes, especially regarding respecting fundamental human rights.

IHRC CORE MANDATES

A country office of the IHRC has been established to note and duly report any refusal to comply with the lawful directives, determination, decision or finding of the IHRC for forwarding to the UN Secretary General through the office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
IHRC Country Offices carry out the following functions in partnership with the Governments:

1. Conduct its investigations and inquiries in such a way that it considers appropriate.
2. Institute any civil action on any matter it seems fit in relation to the exercise of its functions.
3. Make determination as to the damages or compensation payable in relation to any violations of human rights where it seems it necessary in the circumstances of the case.
4. Summon and interrogate any person, body or authority to appear before it for the purpose of a public inquiry aimed at the resolution of a complaint of human violation.
5. Apply for issuance of a warrant to compel the attendance of any person before it upon failure to honour a summon.
6. Compel any person, body or authority to furnish it with any information or produce any document or other evidence relating to any matter being investigated
7. Compel the attendance of witnesses to produce evidence before it.

In the exercise of its functions and powers the IHRC country offices shall not be subject to any direction or control of any other authority or person.
