IHRC AFRICA REGION HQ SIX NEW APPOINTMENTS
Some nominations for the Head of the country Offices under the IHRC Africa Region HQ have been ratified and appointed in June 2020. Six personalities who are with satisfactory backgrounds for the appointment as Coordinators/Special Envoys in the African Executive Committee (AEC) have been named.

In an announcement issued after their due registration certificates were issued by the IHRC Situation Room, the Africa Region HQ’s Director/Ambassador H.E Dr. Tivlumun Innocent Ahure stated that the AEC is pleased to welcome the newly appointed and stressed that they earned the appointments due to value placed on the constructive discussions between the IHRC Situation Room and the authorities in their countries of origin. They join IHRC Africa Region HQ at an exciting time as we continue to engage governments to respect fundamental human rights while pursuing the observation of provisions contained in both the UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the African Charter on Human and People Rights through the srategy of the IHRC Charter to build deeper relationships with nations to fulfill our purpose of helping people love where they live.
Dr. Ahure said that the International Secretary-General of the IHRC Dr. Saiful Dildar has endorsed the appointment of these Coordinators/Special Envoys which complements the IHRC African Executive Committee. Dr. Dildar noted that the current officials in Africa have exhibited skills and experiences, and he remains confident that the IHRC Coordinators/Special Envoys in Africa will provide valuable perspectives as we continue to execute our strategy and enhance value for the reports from the IHRC to the UN Human Rights Council.
The IHRC Africa Region HQ regularly evaluates its composition to ensure it includes the appropriate skills, experience and perspectives necessary to attaining good results – this is the vision. As is the annual practice, the AEC General Assembly and Extraordinary Congress slated for later in the year will welcome the new members from Liberia, Madagascar Democratic Republic of the Congo, Morroco, Sierra Leone and Somalia and give them a standing ovation.
