By Directive from Amb. Dr. HAISSAM BOU-SAID (Amb. at Large to the UNOG Affairs), the leadership cadres of the Africa Region HQ of the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) Geneva, Switzerland joins to express the opinion widely held that the Chinese government must stop the mistreatment and racist push to evict Africans from their country.

A series of meetings in the IHRC Diplomatic Room on the issue of Africans being subjected to online abuses and bullying and negatively profiling, with the call for their deportation from China has made it necessary for the IHRC to caution that China should be ready for agitation arising from universal unacceptance of the xenophobic attacks on Africans in their country.

To just grumble and call for improvement of the situation in China will at best achieve a sympathetic attitude from the Chinese Government whether truthfully or pretentiously. It is, therefore, a gesture beyond this that would be considered a valuable remedy to Africa and the affected people from Africa.

This xenophobic attacks on Africans with demeaning undertones that they are the carriers of the deadly coronavirus is depressing and malicious and the IHRC and the office of the United Nations Human Rights Chief Michelle Bachelet unanimously regards this as the height of treachery and defies social relations and human rights, let alone international protocols. It is racist and objectionable.

Beijing must signify the ways and means a pacifier China wants to carry out for the cordial relations with Africa to continue.
