IHRC NEWS: A DAMNING VERDICT THAT HUMAN RIGHTS ESTABLISHMENTS FORMED BY GOVERNMENTS CANNOT PERFORM T

It is a thing of negligence and abdication of their functions by both the governments and their bodies constituted by their laws to protect human rights when it is indisputable that the governments treat issues of human rights of victims of terrorism or violence or conflicts or natural disasters.

There are guiding principles which serve as the global standard for governments regarding the protection and assistance of internally displaced persons. Displaced within the borders of their own countries, IDPs are among the world’s most neglected – often denied access to education, employment, safe accommodation and other human rights. There is sufficient evidence to support the indictment that the government funded Human Rights Organizations in the African countries are merely paying lip service, playing to gallery and cannot stand firm against their governments in human rights violations. Akin to this is their complete failure to call the governments to respect and implement national or international human rights Protocols which are lives impacting declarations.

Engr. Ekemini Ukim, the Director IHRC Africa Executive Committee on Protocols Compliance Affairs has visited the Situation Room to ask H.E Dr. Tivlumun Innocent Ahure the Africa Region HQ Secretary General of the IHRC to approve the holding of conferences to address this. The proposal has been given the go-ahead executive approval. The first edition is pertaining to the African Union human rights declarations on the internally displaced to hold in Niamey, Niger republic.
