The United Nations Postal Administration will celebrate World Bee Day on 20 May 2019 by issuing three stamp mini-sheets showcasing bees and flowers. The United Nations designated 20 May as World Bee Day, because of Slovenia’s initiative in 2017 to raise public awareness about the importance of bees, the threats they face, the need to protect their natural habitat and their contribution to sustainable development.
