Now it is for the government to quickly take bold even if painful decisions to save the country from collapsing. It’s accountability to the people, their well-known concerns, needs and expectations.
Those who try to intimidate and silence journalists work against the interests of the people, against the future of Lebanon.
Any solution of the economic, financial and banking sector crisis must start with complete transparency of what is the solvency of Lebanon and its Central bank, communicated with the full clarity, honesty and accountability to the public.
I hope that technical advice and expertise requested by the Government of Lebanon from the IMF will not be kept secret from the people. They have the right to know, it is their country.
